Job Description

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for purchasing all food products and supplies according to Customer specifications and approved suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels in the unit.
  • Coordinates deliveries to ensure on time delivery for daily production requirements.
  • Monitors changing Customer requirements for impact to purchasing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize ERP along with in house tools to determine purchasing requirements.
  • Responsible for monitoring proper storage, rotation, and security of materials.
  • Monitor requisitions for accuracy, fulfillment and delivery.
  • Audits and ensures accuracy of vendor invoices prior to payment.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory levels within ERP system.
  • Ensure all company SOP #39;s relating to safety, storage and Food Safety are followed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of product specifications.
  • Maintain and report accurate product shortage and substitution list.
  • Play an active role in identifying and correcting material usage variances.
  • Supervision of up to 15 employees as required.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as required.
Education:
  • Relevant education and/or experience in related field.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 1-2 years purchasing experience.
Job Skills:
  • Intermediate level Microsoft office tool skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, interact well with multiple departments as required
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills
  • Able to work with little supervision
  • Able to work weekends
  • Detail oriented
