POSITION: Learning Partner - Long Term OccasionalFTE: 1.0LOCATIONS: Supporting Central PS, Rockland PS, Rothwell Osnabruck, and Russell HSPOSITION ENDS: June 29, 2022, or upon the return of the incumbent, whichever is earlier.Summary:Under the direction of the System Principals of Teaching and Learning, the Learning Partner will work with assigned school administrators and teachers to develop, implement and support the school SIPSAW plan, as well as supporting UCDSB system and Ministry initiatives in support of a 90% graduation rate. They will build teacher capacity to support student achievement, wellness, and engagement for all students. The Learning Partner position is intended to build capacity in the system by way of supporting teachers and administrators in clusters of schools and sharing the acquired learning while in this role and upon return to their home school.Responsibilities:Support schools in the development and monitoring of SIPSAW goals, with a focus on Literacy, Numeracy and Wellness connected to BIPSAW goalsImplement and support Ministry of Education initiatives including but not limited to the Renewed Math Strategy, Literacy, FSL, Early Learning, Equity, Indigenous Education, Special Education, Student Success, Building the Workforce of Tomorrow, Re-engagement, Career-Life Planning, Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship, Apprenticeships, and other forms of Experiential LearningWork with other Learning Partners to co-plan, facilitate and support system wide initiativesWork with other Learning Partners to co-plan, facilitate and support learning for principals, teachers and studentsCo-facilitate school learning teams under the direction of the school principalCo-plan and co-teach with classroom teachers and Special Education TeachersAssist teachers in implementing high impact classroom practices that directly impact student learning and engagement (differentiated instruction, universal design for learning, assessment and evaluation, skills and competency development, real-life experiential learning opportunities, Social-Emotional Learning, etc.)Co-plan and co-organize learning opportunities for students (e.g., Experiential Learning Projects)Assist with facilitating and coordinating supports for studentsKnowledge/Skills:Demonstrates strong knowledge and skill in working with students with a wide range of exceptionalitiesDemonstrates broad knowledge of effective pedagogy and classroom practices that directly impact student learning and engagement (differentiated instruction, universal design for learning, assessment and evaluation, etc.)Demonstrates strong knowledge and skill in the use of technologyDemonstrates a growth mindsetDemonstrates a thorough knowledge of the Ontario curriculumDemonstrates excellent organizational, presentation and time management skillsDemonstrates exemplary interpersonal, facilitation, and team building skillsDemonstrates strong initiative and problem-solving skillsDemonstrates experience in effectively integrating technology into teaching practiceDemonstrates familiarity with a wide range of assessment toolsFollows the Standards of Practice and Ethical Standards of Practice for the Teaching ProfessionUnderstands professional development and its impact on student learningDemonstrates knowledge of equitable and inclusive education practices and understands culturally relevant and responsive pedagogyEffectively communicates and works collaboratively with all education stakeholdersQualifications:An Ontario Teacher’s Certificate of QualificationHold Qualifications in 2 divisions, 3 preferredSpecialist qualification in areas such as Mathematics, ESL, FSL, or Reading an assetSpecial Education Part 1 an assetMinimum of 5 years teaching experienceMember of the Ontario College of Teachers in good standingConditions:Salary – grid plus travel allowanceTravel to various locations may be requiredToapply:Pleaseattach a covering letter and resume indicating your experience and areas ofteaching expertise.All applications will be considered; however, only those to beinterviewed will be contacted.Nolate submissions will be considered.The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is committed to equity in employment.
