Job Description

This position is for an overnight awake midnight staff in our Gananoque Home.Ventures Group Homes is a residential treatment facility that operates under the umbrella of child welfare and houses male youth ages 10-18 with a variety of mental health and behavioural issues. The goal of Ventures Group Homes is to promote positive behavioural change and growth in the youth we serve and to assist them with working through identified problems so upon discharge they are prepared for independent living or reintegration back into their families.We are currently seeking a staff member to join a compassionate and dedicated team of professionals in a well established treatment facility for male youth in need of protection. We are seeking qualified individuals who are looking to make a difference in the lives of youth who exhibit a variety of behavioural and mental health issues. Applicants must possess empathy, be non-judgmental, and be genuine. They must have an understanding of the barriers that these youth face and have the desire to help them overcome them and reach attainable goals. You must have excellent communication and counselling skills, the ability to handle and dispense medication, good crisis/suicide intervention skills, the ability to write concise reports and detailed logs, be organized, structured, consistent and patient.Experience working with youth who have criminogenic behaviours, a dual diagnosis, Developmental delays, addictions and challenging behaviours an asset.Please only those who have a post-secondary education in the applicable field of human studies can apply.
