Job Description

J.I.M Construction is a small construction company which is primarily working to complete new residential construction (forming and framework). We also specialize in residential renovations.Residential Framer - We are currently hiring for an experienced framer. Applicant must have experience/knowledge in the following:Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality work, at a productive rate with minimal supervision
  • Read & interpret blueprints with the ability to perform proper job layout
  • Follow company safety policies
  • Show up to the job site on time and ready to work
Required Skills/Training:
  • 2-5 years experience in carpentry specializing in residential framing
  • Working knowledge of residential framing as per the Ontario building code
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated skill with regard to: simple math, reading and writing English
  • General knowledge of blueprints and job layout documentation
  • Working at heights certificate
  • Tools that will be used: hand tools, power tools, ladders and other related tools
  • Advanced carpentry skills, knowledge of power tools and following safety requirements are all mandatory
  • Experience in siding, facia, soffit, trim, window and door installation considered an asset
  • Finish carpentry considered an asset
  • Additional skills to be considered an asset
  • Possible carpentry apprenticeship for the right candidate
Essential Job Requirements:
  • Employees must be able to function well with regard to the following: uncontrolled environmental conditions
  • Working off ladders and working from heights
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching and reaching to perform everyday job tasks
  • Must have good vision, stamina, good hand/eye coordination
  • Must be able to work independently in a timely manner and must be able to work well in a team environment
  • Must have a valid drivers licence and reliable transportation to the job site
