Job Description

Wolf Willow Winery is located 45 minutes south west of Saskatoon, SK. The winery sits on 100 acres of certified organic land containing 7000 Sour Cherry Bushes, 500 Haskap bushes, and 1000 Rhubarb plants. The winery the annual production capacity of 30,000L of Cherry, Haskap, and Rhubarb wine. Wolf Willow Winery has recently expanded to producing fruit wine based beverages and is a large part of the current business model. There is a seasonal restaurant which operates in the wine production building and shares space with the wine make facilities and equipment. Adjacent to the winery is a successful glamp/camp ground and world class frisbee gold course. The winey is also in partnership with a market garden producer to create Upick and CSA farm share programs on the remaining organic land on the property. Wolf Willow Winery aspires to be one of the premier vacation destination spots in Saskatchewan. We are small winery with plans of expansion, looking for an eager and passionate team player who is able to play an ever evolving role in the growth of the winery. Ideally we are looking for business partnership with individuals who see the excitement and potential of being an integral part of an expanding enterprise.The successful individual would work closely with the winemaker in all aspects of fruit wine production. Executing day to day operations of the processing facilities at the winery. Facilitate and help manage sales and delivery of products, and help build market and product portfolio. Assisting the restaurant team and owners, adding support for wine tastings, farmers markets, and special events. Working with winemaker and owners to develop new products. We are looking to establish partnerships and/or generous profit sharing opportunities to the right candidate who has proven to be a passionate and committed to helping make the Wolf Willow Winery brand a success.Wolf Willow Winery Manager is responsible in directing and overseeing all service areas in the Winery including the tasting room & restaurant, tours, and special events, but not limited to.General Manager will work closely with executive management/owners to increase sales, accomplish strategic initiatives, and inspire employees to achieve their goals.The General Manager position requires demonstrated success in employee management, financial management, winery operations and operational policy formation.Knowledge of the legal, regulatory requirements including federal and provincial government reporting responsibilities, winery operations, marketing wines, wine club development, catering, restaurant operations, on-site special events and export sales.Working closely with the Winery Operations Manager, Wine Maker, Controller, Marketing & Sales Managers and restaurant staff.Responsibilities The General Manager will be responsible through its managers for all Accounting, Winery & Restaurant Operations, Compliance, Marketing and Retail Sales Operations including tasting room operations, wine club, direct to consumer sales, retail sales, export sales, restaurant and events.Proactively resolve any actual and potential employee relations issues and or problems and maintain compliance with all federal and provincial regulations concerning employmentDesign, implement, and facilitate strategic marketing strategies including public relations, brand development and export sales.Active participation in review of wine styles, pricing and make recommendations.Salary will be commensurate with experience and competitive in the industry.What we offer: A fun, fast paced environment; Competitive salary, profit sharing or partial ownership.Job Duties

  • Provides exceptional and professional service to our guests and team members
  • Ensures to provide smooth daily operations at the winery, while maintaining high levels of guest service
  • Handles all guests inquires
  • Addresses customers complaints or concerns
  • Accepts reservations, changes, and cancellations
  • Ensures inter-departmental communication and cooperation
  • Attends weekly Revenue meetings
  • Prepares & reviews weekly schedule
  • Ensures employees are following proper protocols
  • Reviews operational reports and e-mails
  • Arrange for and oversee maintenance activities
  • Create reservations
  • Other duties as assigned by the Winery Manager
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary education is preferred
  • 2 years of experience in a Supervisory role within the restaurant/winery setting
  • Competent in all Wine, Retail, tasting room/restaurant offerings including but not limited to tastings, tours, special events, and steps of service standards
  • Knowledge in all emergency procedures
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must be able to multi task
  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced and consistently changing environment
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Must have full knowledge of all roles within the department
