Job Description

Human resources consultantFull-TimeNumber of hours per week : between 24 and 40Shift : DayAvailability : WeekdaysBecome a r.h. generalistThe person in this role will act as a generalist and will be responsible for all activities related to human resources management and labour relations in order to contribute to the smooth running of shop operations.More specifically, he/she will :

  • Advise and coach managers and management on labour relations and human resources management;
  • Develop and implement talent attraction strategies using various technology platforms and social networks;
  • Conduct the full recruitment cycle and promote opportunities in-store;
  • Participate in each step of the talent acquisition process (posting, phone interview, selection interview, coordination for background check and writing the offer to the candidate);
  • Advise internal partners to select the best talent;
  • Identify and define best practices in human resources management and ensure their application;
  • Ensure the interpretation and application of the collective agreement and company policies;
  • Manage disciplinary files and complaints (provide advice and coaching to managers, conduct investigations, draft disciplinary measures, etc.);
  • Exercising influential leadership to promote problem solving and conflict resolution as well as ongoing communication with employees and union representatives;
Requirements:
  • You have a college diploma in human resources/administration, combined with more than five (5) years of experience as a human resources generalist in a unionized environment (any other combination deemed equivalent will be considered);
  • You are recognized for your knowledge of the various labour laws and have business acumen;
  • You are dynamic, have good interpersonal skills and are known for your ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • You have a sense of priorities, good organizational skills and demonstrate rigor, discretion and excellent judgment;
  • You are autonomous and are known for your sense of responsibility;
  • You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Power Point);
  • You have experience in the retail sector.
