Job Description

The individual in this role sells and markets products for distribution (Business to Business) to contractor and industrial businesses at customers #39; place of business. The role requires the vigorous pursuit of bid/spec business. The individual has a proven record of building relationships throughout the market. The Sales Representative will work closely with Wholesalers, Contractors, Engineers and internal Watts partners.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and negotiate sales (job is 75% travel, primarily by car)
  • Build and maintain customer relationships; point of contact for current and potential customers
  • Demonstrate products using samples or catalogue; set up displays
  • Liaise with Product Managers and Customer Service
  • Quote prices and terms; prepare sales contracts
  • Conduct market research and competitor surveillance to maintain competitiveness
  • Prepare marketing and sales reports
  • Implement marketing projects
  • Acts as the voice of the customer and promote customer centric mindset
  • Build long-term relationships with customers and strengthen Watts Water Technologies image
  • Attend trade shows and industry events as required to represent our products in the marketplace
  • Comfortable facilitating or leading training sessions for groups of 15 to 20 attendees.
  • Able to work and foster a harmonious working relationship with co-workers.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Manager and/or Department Director.
EDUCATION: Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.MANAGEMENT: No direct reports.EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Client focus and ability to work under pressure
  • Valid Driver #39;s License
  • Understanding of the Plumbing Wholesale Channel and the Contractor role.
  • Proven business development skills and professional demeanor.
  • Relevant product and industry knowledge.
  • Ability to see the big picture while managing the tactics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written
  • A team player who can prioritize work independently with excellent time management skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Highly self-motivated, resourceful, and excited about sales and continued growth.
