Job Description

Position:Senior Financial AnalystLocation: Burlington, ONActive Business Services (“ABS”) is looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and hard-working full time Senior Financial Analyst. This role will be within the finance department. This exciting role will challenge your ability to multi-task and solve problems efficiently in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment. ABS is a rapidly growing energy marketing firm based in Burlington Ontario, operating in several markets across Canada including Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. As a market leader with a progressive culture, ABS provides a platform to show initiative, learn new skills, and experience different facets of the business operations. The ideal applicant will encourage increased responsibility, work autonomously, and go after the opportunities involved with joining a rapidly growing company. Considered candidates must be analytical, results oriented, and eager to make an immediate impact. Primary Duties Include

  • Prepare, maintain and analyze weekly cash flow forecast and present findings to senior management
  • Prepare monthly and year end general ledger entries
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for variances and identify business trends
  • Manage invoicing processes for multiple business units
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assist with preparation of budget and financial forecast
  • Assist with annual financial audit
  • Ad-hoc reporting and projects as required
  • Provide ongoing support to the finance team
Qualifications
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or working towards designation
  • Minimum 5 years of related accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of full cycle accounting and accounting principles
  • Experience using Sage 50 accounting software an asset
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Extremely detailed oriented, productive, and efficient
  • Effective at managing numerous projects/tasks of varying complexities, meeting deadlines, and working well under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-Driven and goal oriented with the ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively in a team environment
