You will be working with a growing team of customer-centric professionals who are skilled to perform a variety of managed services ranging from logistics tasks to scientific support roles. Our colleagues enjoy a collaborative work environment with a strong safety culture and a balanced mix of lab and desk work.LocationBurnaby, B.C.How will you make an impactYou will serve as the first point of contact for the Biological Material Management program and Aliquoting services to help our clients focus on research. You will also provide cross-coverage in Mediaamp; Buffer Preparation as needed. You will promote a safe and constantly improving work environment by participating in site safety programs, cost savings analysis, and process improvement initiatives.What will you doResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Biological Material Management: Using PIMS/Mosaic system to enter biological materials upon arrival, assess and update current inventory, access cryo- and ultra-low freezers to organize, transfer, or remove materials in an accurate and timely manner and track records in an internal spreadsheet.
  • Aliquoting: aliquot reagents and register biological samples in customer database.
  • Media Sciences: prepare media, buffer, ethanol dilutions, and reagents according to customer requirements.
  • Capture and report job specific metrics to Site Supervisor and maintain good record-keeping.
How will you get here
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
  • Familiar with general laboratory protocols
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of lifting, pushing and/or pulling 30-40 lbs consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • BA/BS degree or four-year college degree in a Science related field required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Detail oriented, problem solver, organized, promotes a collaborative workplace
  • Must possess the interpersonal skills to be able to interact with various levels of personnelamp; customers
  • Must be responsible, accountable and take ownership of one #39;s work
  • Capable of optimal time management to prioritize own work and meet business efficiency metrics
