Job Description

Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an energetic, passionate, self-motivated Senior Archaeologist and Indigenous Relations Specialist(s) to join our team in BC. One or more roles may be filled from this recruitment process.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading, planning and running archaeological field programs, including consultation with Indigenous communities with respect to archaeological projects located on Treaty Lands, Traditional Territories, Reserve Lands, Crown Lands, or privately owned lands
  • Leading the growth of our archaeological portfolios through the development of project proposals and other business development activities
  • Writing technical archaeological assessment reports
  • Assisting with the management of project budgets and schedules, internal and external document control, and project records
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of archaeological programs and services
  • Consulting with Indigenous Peoples and communities in B.C. on archaeology projects, including, but not limited to, developing consultation plans, identifying potential adverse effects of archaeology projects on Indigenous’ interests, and identifying mitigation andaccommodation measures
  • Working with multi-disciplinary teams and project managers to develop archaeological and Indigenous consultation strategies supporting environmental assessments, community engagement plans, and infrastructure development projects
  • Leading, planning and participating in Indigenous relations engagement activities, including site tours / visits, advisory committees, community meetings, and public open houses
  • Managing relationships with clients and Indigenous communities
