We have also appeared in Time Magazine, MIT Technology Review, Forbes, INC Magazine and Wired.As of August 8, 2022, our organization is a publicly traded quantum computing company, trading on the NYSE as ($QBTS).About the role:D-Wave is looking for a Software Developer I to join our Algorithms, Performance, and Tools (APT) team and contribute to the continuous improvement of Ocean, our open-source software development kit for solving complex problems on our quantum computers and quantum-classical hybrid solvers. In this role you #39;ll be developing the software tools used to facilitate running and solving these problems, particularly focusing on maintaining, upgrading and modernizing our client libraries and library of examples. No knowledge in quantum physics is required, although previous experience with quantum computing would be beneficial.Here #39;s what makes this role awesome:Challenge: You #39;ll be responsible for a core part of our software offering that forms the building block of future quantum applications.Connection: Your work will be seen (and used) by programmers and scientists around the world.Impact: You and your team will lay the groundwork for the future of programming quantum computers.What you #39;ll do:

  • Write and maintain application examples to help new users map their applications and solve their problems on our quantum computers and/or hybrid solvers
  • Write clean, well-documented and testable code for our Ocean software tools
  • Support the quantum computing developer community and D-Wave customers by maintaining code and fixing bugs in open and closed source software
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients, building and adapting examples and tutorials to both internal and external users
What you #39;ll bring:
  • Co-op or professional experience in software development
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in computer science, physics or mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • Effective technical communication skills; expect to work 1-on-1 with our clients and internal teams
  • Excellent Python abilities and an understanding of how programming languages function under the hood
  • Experience building dashboards and/or webapps using Jupyter, Dash/Plotly, Streamlit, Matplotlib or similar packages
  • Experience incorporating builds and tests into a continuous integration platform like CircleCI, Appveyor, Jenkins and/or Travis
  • Experience working on end-to-end software projects; from architecture to implementation and documentation
  • Experience working with open-source software; previous open-source contributions a plus
  • Familiarity with linear algebra and graph theory
  • Experience with UX/UI design
The Canadian national average salary range for this role is $76,500 to $119,500. The disclosed range reflects the average base salary minimum and maximum target for new hires in the position in Canada. The respective salary range for the successful candidate will be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Actual compensation within the range is based on factors including but not limited to relevant education, skills, licenses, training and certification, experience, as well as business needs.In addition to base salary, this role is also eligible to participate in our Annual Incentive Plan (Bonus plan), equity grants and programs, PTO, and a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life and AD amp;D insurance, STD, LTD, and Travel Insurance.Additional information:We celebrate diverse perspectives to drive innovation in our pursuit.
