As such, we welcome talented individuals that have a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and industry experience who will contribute to the success of our One Parkland team.Position Title: Warehouse ManagerLocation: Burnaby, BCMinimum Starting Salary from: $ 108,600 /yearPosition Summary:The warehouse plays a critical role in ensuring refinery availability. The Warehouse Manager will have a significant impact on the refineries EBITDA by ensuring that critical spare materials are available to support refinery operations. The Warehouse manager will lead the strategic direction for a warehousing network that consists of 5,500 critical materials with a value of $19MM. The Warehouse Manager is expected to lead, develop, and implement new processes and technology to move Parkland warehousing into world class. Along with strategic warehouse improvements, the role will be responsible for supervising and developing a team of 6 unionized employees.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a unionized team of supply chain professionals to support transactional ordering and material management.
  • Coach and mentor team to ensure capability development.
  • Recruit and develop new team members.
  • Ensure team members are following correct ordering and material management processes and procedure.
  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of strategic plans for warehouse optimization, focusing on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall performance.
  • Manage and optimize on site Inventory. Manage 3 on site warehouses with an inventory of 5,500 unique critical spares with a book value of $19MM.
  • Ensure all supply chain management requirements related to transactional SCM and material management activities are implemented.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology solutions to enhance inventory tracking and management.
  • Utilize data to ensure good warehouse operations. Utilize data such as on time delivery, cycle counts, slow moving inventory to optimize day to day warehousing and drive demand management.
  • Manage material management activities such as inventory disposition, material surplus sales, inventory optimization.
  • Explore the integration of RFID, IoT, and automation technologies to improve tracking and visibility.
  • Implement real-time data analytics and reporting to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure the warehouse is prepared for e-commerce and omnichannel fulfillment requirements.
  • Coordinate warehouse improvement activities with other warehouse operations across Parkland organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Supply Chain Degree or a Commerce Logistics Degree.
  • 8-10 years of Supply Chain Management in an Industrial Setting (Refinery Experience would be an asset).
  • Subject Matter Expert on warehouse operations. Extensive knowledge of Source to Pay processes and what is critical in each of the process #39;s steps.
  • Leadership - experience managing a unionized work force. Able to inspire and motivate the team while working within the collective agreement.
  • Decision Making - accountable to make critical choices with limited resources in order to improve warehousing.
  • Problem Solving - ability to identify issues, analyze root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication - Ability to communicate with internal stakeholders within the business and SCM organization, as well as external stakeholders (vendors, freight companies, on site contractors).
  • Safety Focus - responsible to ensure warehouses and personnel are following safe work practices.
  • Attention to Detail - ensure that inventory and other materials are managed accurately. Responsible to ensure compliance requirements are being adhered to.
  • Analytical Skills - ability to interpret data, utilize data to drive optimal decisions that impact the warehouse.
  • Time Management - prioritizing activities and ensuring realistic deadlines are set and met to improve warehouse efficiencies.
  • Technical Skills - working knowledge of ERP environments, familiar with Planned Maintenance software, other warehouse management software.
  • Continuous Improvement or Lean Sigma training would be an asset for this role but not mandatory.
