Axxel RH is an HR and talent acquisition firm and we are currently looking for a Tax Manager for our client, a Canadian accounting firm with over 35 years of professional experience and headquartered in Ontario. The firm provides a full range of services to business and professional clients, as well as individuals and their families in Canada, the U.S., and abroad.We are looking for an individual with leadership and management skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to provide excellent client service, strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, engagements, and deadlines. They must be adaptable, flexible, and possess strong technical skills and multi-tasking skills to manage all these components while working on multiple engagements at the same time. This senior position is expected to lead by example and mentor staff accountants regarding professional conduct, customer service and share technical knowledge.Responsibilities and duties:Manage assigned tax engagements and provide business advisory services.Offer tax planning and advice to clients, ensuring impeccable customer service.Identify and resolve major tax concerns promptly.Develop a deep understanding of clients #39; business, financial, and tax affairs.Deliver industry and technical expertise in tax through various means.Manage tax department financials, including budgets and billing.Strategically assess client needs and maximize relationships.Monitor project timelines, adjust as necessary, and communicate status to clients.Collaborate with team members to discuss roles, responsibilities, and deadlines.Plan work timing, staffing, and progress monitoring for engagements.Maintain quality control by reviewing work for accuracy and completeness.Ensure proper documentation and procedures are followed.Liaise professionally with clients, colleagues, and firm leadership.Coordinate engagement preparation and maintain regular client contact.Uphold firm policies, standards, and accounting regulations.Recommend corporate reorganizations for tax optimization.Coach, train, and develop team members.Provide clear instructions and maintain open communication.Set and track performance goals, address issues, and exercise judgment.Qualifications:
