Calgary Co-op's roots run deep into the heart of our community.Ability Management Specialist OpportunityAs a result of continuing growth and development, Calgary Co-op is seeking a professional individual to fill an Ability Management Specialist position in our Human Resources Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing WCB claims, managing and adjudicating non-occupational injury claims monitoring employee leave of absence, employee file maintenance of the HRIS database and presenting educational and training programs as required. This position is mainly office based but the ability to travel to all Calgary Co-op sites is a requirement.QualificationsMinimum (2) two years' experience in adjudication and case management of disability claims and request for accommodationBuilding strong relationships with stakeholders and collaborating with them in the return to work and accommodation processWork in partnership with all stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting to WCBDevelop, implement, and manage effective strategies and programs that facilitate standardized processes to the return to work and accommodation of all employeesAptitude to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality relating to employee informationThe ability to treat customers with compassion, kindness and providing them with options and creative solutions for their early return to work, accommodation, treatment suggestions and benefit optionsExceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects within established deadlines while managing a high case loadProven ability to work well independently and as part of a teamEffective communication skills - active listening and effective verbal and written skills are requiredAttention to detailProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power PointDesirable QualificationsRelated post-secondary education, such as Human Resources Management Certificate, Disability Management Certificate or Certified Employee Benefit SpecialistExperience working with HRIS and Oracle systemsExperience working with unions and within the guidelines of a Collective AgreementBenefits & PerksCalgary Co-op takes pride in providing more than just an attractive compensation and benefits plan, as well as an industry leading pension plan and recognition program.
