Faculty and staff come together to contribute, each in their own way, to establishing uLethbridge as Canada’s destination university.Rank Sessional Lecturer/InstructorTenure InformationPosition DetailsThe PositionThe Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Lethbridge invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer to teach “Introduction to Academic Writing” (WRIT 1000) at our Calgary Campus during Spring 2023 semester (January – April 2023). The course will be held on Thursdays from 18:00-20:45. Writing 1000 uses a genre-based, writing-across-the-curriculum approach, this course addresses the range of skills that students need to be successful academic readers and writers across the disciplines in the modern research university. This includes practice related to the techniques of summary, citation, analysis, synthesis, academic argumentation, revision, scholarly research, and academic writing conventions. Qualified applicants must hold a Master’s degree in English or a related area. Candidates with a Ph.D. or near completion, as well as teaching experience, are preferred.The hiring salary for Sessional Lecturer I is $6,709 for the appointment period, plus 4% vacation pay, with 10% of the total being paid in December 2022, and the remainder paid in equal installments from January to April, 2023.Application ProcessAll applications must be submitted online and should include a letter of application and a curriculum-vitae which includes the names and contact details of three references.
