Job Description

We take pride in developing careers, fostering a company culture that embodies our core values of Care, Commit, and Collaborate.Reporting to the Regional Controller, the Accounting Manager assists in facilitating the monthly and quarterly accounting close cycles for Thermon #39;s two (2) Canadian companies spanning five (5) locations (a $225M+ industrial manufacturing company), with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting. This role will help manage one team member. The Accounting Manager will be an active member in the on-going improvement of business processes.What you will do:· Prepare and review journal entries.· Prepare Month-end Balance Sheet Account reconciliations· Approve Cheque/Wire/EFT payments to Vendors· Fixed asset and rental fixed asset accounting· Full cycle accounting for our services company· Inventory close and reconciliation· Backup payroll· Prepare various PBC requests for external auditors throughout the year and review other PBC #39;s before providing to external auditors· Assist with internal audit requests· Prepare and maintain appropriate SOX evidence as required· Develop staff whether direct or indirect, by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships· Assist with the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics D365 over the next 2 years to ensure a successful transition from Microsoft AX12· Assist with budgeting process· Perform ad hoc analysis and other projects and tasks as assignedBasic Requirements:· Bachelor #39;s degree in Accounting required· CPA designation required· 3-5 years of experience in a Senior Accounting/Finance role. Big 4 or public accounting firm experience preferred· Manufacturing and/or cost accounting experience preferred· Working knowledge with large ERP / General Ledger packages (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite). D365, Atlas, and/or OneStream experience is preferred· Strong competency in Microsoft applications including Excel· Ability to research, understand and apply accounting guidance and regulationsTraits:· Self-driven, results-oriented, growth mindset;· Must be people oriented, leader/facilitator, function with little to no oversight;· Strong technical accounting acumen;· Exceptional verbal and written skills;· Strong, thorough self-review skills.
