Job Description

Job purposeThe Camp Operations Coordinator, Trail will assist the Regional Manager with various responsibilities. This is an important role that includes supporting in the hiring of seasonal staff, becoming the expert and “go to” for our Trail Program, helping with the distribution and preparation of our camp equipment and transitioning into a Trail Site Support in the summer months. This role is a seasonal position from May till September.Duties and responsibilitiesSeasonal Hiring

  • Support the seasonal hiring process through jumping in to running interviews and organizing on-boarding documents when necessary. Part of this may include creating weekly class lists.
  • Work with Site Managers during the summer with staff scheduling issues, helping to source instructors when additional staff are required.
Camp Management
  • Establish positive relationships with trail camp leaders, instructors, and volunteers
  • Organize and maintain trail camp equipment and assist with the delivery of equipment to sites
  • Ensure that trail camp procedures and safety standards are being followed and upheld
  • Be actively involved in ensuring quality delivery of our childrens trail programs
  • Participate in ensuring friendly, caring and safe camp environments
  • Becoming the expert in all our trail routes in your assigned region
  • Be part of the summer site support team regularly visiting trail sites in assigned regional territory
  • Fill in for Site Managers during absences when needed
Customer Service
  • Assists Regional Manager with responding to customer complaints in a timely and professional manner, always aiming to provide solutions that ensure resolution.
  • Always willing to go the extra mile to engage customers and provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Proactively engage with parents and children on-site.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience managing summer camps and/or teams of leaders/instructors
  • Hands on experience with childrens programs/summer camps or in coaching, teaching, instructing children ages 3 to 8 years old
  • Must be competent with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be able to travel to areas of responsibility
  • Knowledge and understanding of the city and trail routes in the communities
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Must pass a background check upon hire
Assets:
  • Degree in Education, Sports Management or related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Supervisory and/or hiring experience, especially with ages 15-25
Direct reportsThe Camp Operations Coordinator has no direct reports but will assist the Regional Manager with supervising the activities of the Site Leadership and Instructor teams within their assigned regional area.Quick Apply
