Overview:Applied Research InternHexagons Autonomy & Positioning division is looking for an enthusiastic Applied Research Intern to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company for the period of May 1 2023 to April 31 2024. To support our focus on delivering high quality products, we are looking for an enthusiastic internship student to add to our Applied Research team. This role will work closely with the industry experts in the group to do hands on investigation and testing of different technologies and ideas. • Investigate and learn to use different sensors
• Setup tests, collect data, and assist in the analysis; this will include physical test setup and execution in test vehicles
• Develop graphing or other analysis tools
• Write clear test reports

Qualifications:Must-Have:

• Registered in the Engineering Internship/Co-op program and have completed your 3rd year of studies by the start of your work term
• Enrolled in Electrical, Geomatics or Computer Engineering at an accredited post secondary institution
• Available for a minimum 12 month work term
• Strong academic credentials
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong debugging and problem solving skills

• Detail oriented and able to follow complex instructions with a “first-time right” attitude
• Motivated by challenging work
• Comfortable working individually but know when to ask for help

Nice-to-Have:

• C++, Matlab, Perl, Python, or other scripting languages
• Basic GNSS understanding
• Hands on experience using lab equipment, like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and data logging programs
