Job Description

Your Opportunity:Description:The Rural West Area Manager, is a key leadership role in Integrated Home Care (IHC) and reports directly to the Director – Integrated Home Care. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of the Rural West Home Care team in support of the organizational vision, mission, program priorities and the business plan of Alberta Health Services. This position oversees the Rural West Home Care teams operating out of Cochrane, Canmore and Banff that are servicing the rural west communities within the Calgary Zone. The position is responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of the home care program. The Rural West Area Manager makes key decisions about the allocation and integration of various IHC resources to carry out these activities. A demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development. Active registration with respective professional college.Additional Required Qualifications:In addition, the successful applicant will also possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Knowledge of seniors’ health and life transitions and a working knowledge of health care system. Demonstrated ability to effect change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Client-focused orientation and strong commitment to quality team-based service delivery. Progressive leadership experience including coaching and teaching to inspire and build confidence in others. Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities. Effective written and verbal communication with strong organizational & influential skills. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Ability to lead organizational change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders toward the achievement of organizational goals. Proven ability to work in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, managing multiple priorities and timelines at once. Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and comfort in using technology for leading virtual meetings.Preferred Qualifications:A Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a healthcare-related field is preferred. A minimum of 5 years healthcare management experience required, Home Care experience preferred.
