Job Description

Relocation assistance and temporary accommodation is available to help support the right candidate with making the move to Salmon Arm!Lakeside Manor, our independent senior living community located on Shuswap Lake in Salmon Arm, BC, is looking for an Assistant General Manager who will be a focal point for our Residents and Staff. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for Resident relations and is the main point of contact for Resident queries, concerns and general feedback and also provides leadership to our Front Office Team.Visit our website to find out more information on all that Lakeside Manor has to offer!Website: https://vantageliving.ca/community/lakeside-manor/Salary Range: $50,000 - 60,000 annually plus extended health and dental benefitsPosition Overview:

  • Assists with meeting occupancy targets by marketing Lakeside Manor to prospective residents and families, professional groups, and the community;
  • Conducts site tours, and responds to inquiries from prospective residents;
  • Engages with residents, coordinating and communicating on meals, activities and routines;
  • Leads on-boarding of new residents including contract set up and orientation of site services;
  • Assist with onsite marketing events to strengthen community connection and generate new leads;
  • Responds to all Facebook or Vantage website inquiries and invites interested prospects to tour the property;
  • Works closely with site leadership and Corporate office to execute strategic plans in order to maximize profitability and occupancy while focusing on relationship building and referral development;
  • Facilitates the move in process for new residents. Prepares, explains, and processes rental agreements. Provides and explains Resident Handbook and Code of Conduct prior to move in;
  • Demonstrates well developed problem solving and decision making skills with good judgement. Proven ability to work well under pressure, prioritize, adapt to changing needs, and multi-task effectively. Champions hospitality quality improvement initiatives by conducting service audits, interpreting results & making recommendations for improvement to the General Manager;
  • Participates as part of the employee team and seeks to build collaborative relationships with all other members of the employee team to facilitate orderly operation of the overall business.
  • Directly supervises concierge staff, assists where needed for hourly staff. Monitors performance through formal and informal processes including written reports, budget compliance, experience surveys, incident reporting and clinical program outcomes;
  • Assists with the development of the work schedule and days off schedule for site kitchen staff in conjunction with the Kitchen Manager and assists with the development of the Activities/Recreation department in conjunction with the General Manager to ensure that the site is adequately staffed for all areas of operations;
  • Assists with the Activities/Recreation department and participates and supervises events, outings, gatherings and presentations as required
  • Ensures all pertinent resident information is received, compiled, and forwarded to the correct department (medical information and food preferences/allergies etc.);
  • Coordinates post move in visit and follow’s up with information as required;
  • Keeps complete and accurate computerized sales records and assists Concierge II with audit and processing;
  • Maintains daily census and informs departments of resident movement ,move-ins and move-outs;
  • Drives engagement with residents and staff through contributing and leading communication initiatives and building relationships
  • Engage in the relationship with residents and their family, including setting appointments and conducting tours; Developing and managing a network of local referral sources; Creates sales strategies for prospective community members and families;
  • Practices the established sales approach to track and follow-up with referrals; Recording sales and updating list of prospects and community organizations, using customer relations management software; Reviews & maintains database to identify and follow-up on leads;
  • Provides vacation/time off coverage for General Manager and acts as site-leader when General Manager is off-site; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Business or Administration coupled with at least 2 years management experience preferably in seniors housing or hospitality;
  • Friendly disposition, personable and easily able to build relationships with clients, families, colleagues, business partners & members of the general public;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal)
  • Strong knowledge of Computer systems including MS Office, Outlook and Excel
  • Experience in various social media platforms for the purpose of engagement
  • Able to multi-task, handle changing priorities & work under pressure;
  • Strong organizational, time management, and presentation skills;
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational required.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
