Job Description

About the Job:Griffithamp; Associates is a financial planning firm in Calgary, Alberta. In almost 2 decades, they have grown to be one of Calgary #39;s top firms, specializing in in-depth financial, tax and estate planning. Their dynamic team excels in building strategies for executives and business owners. They currently service over 2000 households and manage over $300m.The team is growing, and they are looking to hire an Associate Financial Advisor. This would originally be to cover a maternity leave but grow into a permanent position. The Associate Financial Advisor will be responsible for managing an assigned block of clients within the current book as well as growing and prospecting their own book, and duties would include meeting preparation, regular review meetings, portfolio rebalances, portfolio recommendations and tax planning, financial plan projections, and client follows ups.Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with clients and servicing requests.
  • Financial plan creation.
  • Providing investment administrative support.
  • Prepare, check and complete forms relating to account openings and transfers.
  • Meeting preparation and follow-up.
  • Prospecting and growing a network of referral sources.
Qualificationsamp; Requirements:
  • Canadian Securities Course (mandatory).
  • Provincial Life Insurance license, including Accidentamp; Sickness (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience working in an advisory role is required.
  • Experience in executing trading orders is required.
  • Salesforce and Naviplan experience is an asset.
  • Knowledgeamp; experience of industry legislation, rules and requirements.
  • University degree or College diploma (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and a CRM essential.
  • Willing to take applicable industry courses and professional development.

Education:
  • Canadian Securities Course. We will consider candidates currently enrolled in the course and able to complete it by March 2025.
  • LLQP License - not required however experience within the insurance industry preferred.
  • While not mandatory, a Certified Financial Planners (CFP) designation or a Personal Financial Planner (PFP) is an asset.
