Job Description

The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta is a collaborative partner with community agencies/organizations in advocating on behalf of persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. We are a leader in delivering programs and services, educating, and providing information on treatment and resources relating to cerebral palsy in the province of Alberta.This position is ideal for someone looking for a casual opportunity (hours vary and can cover shifts during the week and weekend). This role involves a high degree of interaction with the general public paired with assisting donors with donation drop offs and placing items in the donation center.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Open and close a variety of Attended Donation Station (ADS) located within Calgary.
  • Empty donation bin into ADS and organize and pack donations to be transported.
  • Keep parking lot, ADS area (inside and outside) and work area neat and clean.
  • Greet customers/donors and assist them in unloading donations from their vehicles, following current COVID 19 guidelines.
  • Assist drivers/trucking personnel with unloading the ADS into truck.
  • Promote ADS in order to increase donations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Communicate with Team Lead regarding any issues or problems.
  • Must follow all health and safety rules and safe work practices, including current COVID 19 guidelines.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all CPAA documents and information.
  • Works a variety of shifts, including weekends, and in all types of weather.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must have good decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license own transportation.
Working Conditions:
  • Regularly works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
· Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.· Ability to reach overhead, kneeling, twisting, bending, stooping.· Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs
  • Safety equipment may be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc
  • Smart phone required for the purpose of tracking hours worked
