Job Description

Do you speak Mandarin Our Insurance Agency in southwest Calgary is looking for a motivated candidate who wants an opportunity to enter the insurance industry on the ground floor. This is not a job. It is a career opportunity with unlimited earning potential. As one of the top Desjardins insurance agencies in Canada, we will mentor and teach you the winning habits to be successful.Key Responsibilities for this entry level position include:

  • Junior Sales Role: Selling auto, home and commercial insurance, and assisting senior sales advisors in the cross selling and promotion of life and other financial services to both existing and new clients.
  • Telephone and Marketing activities: Answering inbound customer inquiries, following up with quotes, creating referral relationships with industry partners such as car dealers and realtors, and developing multiline opportunities.
  • Servicing Existing Mandarin Clients: Billing and renewal inquiries, coverage changes, underwriting follow up tasks, policy reviews, identifying opportunities and recommending solutions, etc).
  • Administrative duties: writing emails, updating reports (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc).
You must have strong skills in communication, multi-tasking, time management, customer service, decision making, and be comfortable with computers. You must be fluent in English and Mandarin, and not be afraid of picking up the phone to help us reach our agency sales goals. Previous telephone sales experience would be an asset.As a trusted insurance professional, you must have no previous criminal nor poor credit history (bankruptcies/collections/bad debts).Compensation will include a base salary, commissions and bonuses with first year target income between $45,000 - $55,000. No previous insurance experience is necessary; however, having a General Insurance license will be an employment requirement to start. You need to study and pass an insurance exam. Free training is provided to committed candidates to help them get their insurance license.We believe in career growth and advancement.
