Job Description

Join the HKB crew in the heart of the Foothills, Black Diamond, AB 35 minutes SW of Calgary. Hard Knox has 4 core beers, a number of seasonals and we distribute across Alberta at liquor stores and on-premise.We are seeking a dynamic, innovative brewer who has the following experience:

  • 3 years of commercial experience as an Assistant working with a professionally trained Head Brewer or 2 years as a Head Brewer OR a soon to graduate with a diploma from a recognized Brewery Operations program will be considered with experience as a home brewer or summer intern experience at a local brewery.
  • Experience on a 20hl Brewhouse or larger preferred.
  • Experience in all aspects of operating a Brewery, cleaning, brewing, maintenance, cellarman duties, packaging, shipping, receiving, ordering materials, budgets, planning production schedule and contributing to the team as a whole (sales, marketing, taproom, events).
  • Ability to scale recipes from a 120L pilot batch to a 20HL batch.
  • Create recipes and have experience brewing a variety of styles.
  • Chemistry, technical mindset. You love the science behind making beer.
  • Experience with Cask MacsII canning line, or equivalent.
  • Experience using BrewNinja, or equivalent.
  • You stay abreast of the industry, trends, never stop learning, and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others.
