If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.Business Analyst - Digital Farming SolutionsAs a member of the Canadian Digital Farming Solutions (DFS) Team and the Climate Global Business Operations (GBO) Insights Team, this opportunity works with department leaders to derive insights that improve business performance. This includes exploratory analysis of large data sets, metrics identification and report creation, and development and maintenance of analytic systems. This role will broadly influence the Canadian DFS T4eams products, operational effectiveness, sales/marketing strategy, and elevate the role of data as an asset to the business.This is a remote position, preferably based out of Guelph, Ontario or Calgary, Alberta.What you will do:

  • Support DFS in the development of new analyses and actionable insights that inform business decisions and help stakeholders execute on strategies and tactics such as foundational grower programs, incentives and offers that support customer focus and achievement of business priorities.
  • Effectively utilize software tools, enabling the automation of key metrics and routine reports to drive efficiences. Provide and deliver data and critical reports to internal and exetneral stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in meetings to determine project scope, KPI’s and other analytics required to complete projects, craft stories, develop visualizations, presentations and manage requests. Effectively summarizing and presenting critical findings to Canadian leadership team members and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development of new integrated solutions, services, communications, and experiences based on customer insights and serve as a subject matter expert on company data working closely with key stakeholders to solve problems, identify trends and develop detailed metrics to assess KPI performance.
  • Lead the interpretation and perform detailed data exploration and validation of large and diverse data sets to identify customer trends, needs, behaviors and opportunities from a variety of sources.
  • Ensure data quality and uphold data governance by documenting data quality issues within Jira tickets for responsible teams, collaborate with the team and internal stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies in a timely manner and ensure root-cause analysis to prevent recurrent errors. Perform routine upkeep and audits of data to ensure accuracy and completeness and document SOPs and flowcharts depicting critical report update processes.
Who you are:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or Economics or other relevant fields of study
  • Strong understanding of data management and analysis, marketing, business planning and implementation processes and practices.
  • Understanding of databases and data management concepts
  • Analytical skills, ability to translate analytical findings into practical implementation plans
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with scripting languages such as SQL, LookML, VBA
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), CRM (Salesforce) and data reporting tools (Looker Periscope, BW, QlikView, Tableau) with some data visualization and dashboarding experience
Preferred Qualifications include:
  • 1-2 years of experience in business analytics roles, with exposure to transactional systems
  • 2+ years business experience preferred in agriculture or related industry.
  • Highly organized, independent and self-motivated, committed to deliver consistent, accurate and high-quality work products
  • Experience working as an analyst in a product, marketing or sales organization
  • Strong communication skills
