Your Opportunity:The Business Intelligence Analyst / Database Lead is responsible for delivering data solutions which provide information in support of analytics, measurement and information delivery to various end users. For this role you will be proficient in data linkage, data mart creation and automation, and will also have a sound understanding of dash-boarding and reporting tool solution delivery for end users. You will understand data requirements, data mapping and the available sources of the data based on source and target data models. You will excel with your experience in Oracle, database modeling, tuning, auditing, data architecture, PL/SQL coding, SQL queries, experience in report generation/analytics. You will perform requirements gathering and analysis, data analysis, data mapping, functional design, quality assurance/user acceptance testing and documentation for APL Data Repository data marts in conjunction with analysts/reporting specialists and business area experts as appropriate. You must understand meta data and data integrity specifications. You will assist in delivery of solutions for end users including dashboard maintenance and information packaging; as such, the incumbent will be familiar with dash-boarding and report delivery solutions, including learning and working with specialized software. You will assist and work directly with all levels of Analysts in solution improvement and delivery. Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present highly technical subject matter to non-technical audiences from Analysts to Executives. Ability to create test plans and facilitate User Acceptance Testing. Must abide by the highest standards of confidentiality and have a sound understanding of the principles within Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, as well as the Health Information Act.Description:The incumbent will analyze, design, develop, document, implement and maintain integrated data environments and data marts created from linkage of disparate data sources and flows to provide continuous access to refined data sets for Analysts. Delivery will require data integration, quality assurance and user acceptance testing. Maintenance will include implementation of error and edit checking and feedback processes to enable accurate information flow is maintained or quickly corrected and align to specifications. All components will require a combination of technical solutions, communications and proactive troubleshooting. Troubleshoot data-related issues arising at all stages of data flow and linkage and work through to successful resolution coordinating appropriate APL resources. The incumbent will access central repository data holdings, access standardized profiling, ETL (extract, transform and load), metadata and documentation design tools and maximize the effectiveness of the ETL processes preceding data mart and downstream steps in order to ensure accurate and timely information delivery. In addition, the incumbent will assist in the definition and documentation of requirements at all levels, including privacy implications.Implement solutions that monitor and validate data content to mitigate impact to information consumers (end users and clients) when data changes or errors are identified. Assist in delivery of solutions for end users including dashboard maintenance and information packaging; and participate in stakeholder discussions with the Enterprise Data Warehouse Services portfolio as appropriate.
