WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Report to the Senior Team Lead, Business Intelligence.
  • Gather effective requirements from the business to create BI reports, dashboards, KPIs, and visualizations from various data sources.
  • Work with end-users to design and develop highly informative, visually appealing analytical reports depicting a data story and generate insights through dashboards that inform and influence business decisions and is easily consumed by the business.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain high-quality BI reporting such as: standard tabular reports, dashboards, KPI’s, ad-hoc, drill down, interacting reporting and geographic visualization for geo analysis.
  • Collaborate with the business to elicit data and reporting requirements, manage, and standardize all reporting and test to ensuring the accuracy of the deliverable.
  • Assist in ad-hoc needs - data validation, clean up and import/export requests as needed.
  • Participate in various data infrastructure projects.
  • BI report delivery focus, but you still have a good grasp on database management systems, ETL concepts and BI reporting platforms.
  • Work independently as well as within a team in various projects in growing and improving our current data warehouse environment and reporting.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
  • You have post secondary education in Business Administration, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • You’re no newbie. You have 3-5 years of experience working in a financial institution – on this we must insist.
  • You have about 3-5 years of work experience as BI Developer such as: gathering and documenting business requirements and translating into BI reporting specifications; design and develop data sets using ETL; designing and developing various high-quality BI reporting and dashboards.
  • Solid understanding of business requirements, aligning all deliverables with Analytics BI standardized analytical products and can easily be used across the organization.
  • Knowledge of software development practices, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and/or work experience.
  • Proficient level of knowledge in following reporting technologies: WebFocus, PowerBI, Microsoft BI Stack technology: MSSQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS.
  • Proficiency in data extraction and transformation from various sources used for BI reporting.
  • Proficient in T-SQL Queries, views, procedures, functions, in memory data processing, code optimization, data transformation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and understand the needs of non-technical business owners.
  • Experience with multi-dimensional data modeling
  • Knowledge of concept fundamentals, architecture, design, data loading & processing, modeling and/or implementation of different components of our data warehouse
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Maintains Agile workflow with Analytics team and delivers exceptional accuracy and timely delivery of all production deliverables
  • Proficient with MS office applications: specifically, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
