Job Description

A Day in the LifeAs a Canning Line Operator, you will travel to different customer locations to help those customers get their products packaged in cans. You will work as a team with the customer employees in an interesting and ever-changing environment. Mobile canning equipment will be loaded in the truck every morning and unloaded at the customers facility, and the opposite done at the end of the day. Operators are not only interacting with the product and with the machinery but also with the customers. The Canning Line Operator is the last line of defense for quality control before a canned product leaves a facility and goes out on the shelves.Accountabilities

  • Load, set up, take down and unload equipment at the start and end of canning runs
  • Mix sanitizing chemicals to clean and sanitize canning equipment
  • Complete and record all quality assurance checks
  • Operate the depalletizer to provide the canning line with a steady supply of cans. Learn the canning line and eventually be able to work interchangeably during the day with the Lead Operator
  • Ensure that all equipment, including the depal, is kept in a clean and presentable state
  • Maintenance and inventory of canning lines
  • Temporary relief of other business development and administrative positions within the company as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Previous brewery or packaging experience
  • Mechanically inclined and resourceful with tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment on site
  • Able to carry up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driver’s abstract mandatory
  • Previous experience driving box trucks is an asset
