Reporting to the Engineering Manager: Geothermal Projects, the CFD/FEA Analyst will develop relevant and accurate models to assist with the design and development of a variety of components related to geothermal and petroleum energy production. The successful candidate will work closely with the Engineering team to conceptualize, design, test and refine products based on the results of simulations.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element (FE) models to support with the prediction of product performance, new product development and for optimization of existing designs
  • Interpreting and analyzing CFD and FEA results and providing appropriate recommendations for design improvements
  • Analyzing failure and damage of parts in accordance with ASME, API and other applicable codes
  • Providing critical input for design selection and design validation using modeling results and fundamental engineering analysis
  • Creating reports to document analysis findings and conclusions
  • Working alongside with Engineering team to provide technical product support
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Completion of Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in CFD and FEA Analysis is considered an asset
  • Strong experience with CFD and FEA Analysis and skilled in ANSYS or similar analysis software
  • Working knowledge of API 6A and API 579/ASME FFS-1 an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Possess a team-oriented attitude with a willingness to step out of the box when necessary
