Job Description

Chef de Partie (Banquets at Alt Hotel East Village) Char Hospitality Group is currently seeking passionate and curious culinary professionals who seek to work and grow in a collaborative, positive, and creative team environment. Our busy destination restaurants serve globally inspired cuisine, scratch prepared sauces, house butchered meats and locally sourced produce are the main features of our menus. We respect work life balance; we schedule 32 to 40 hours per week based on availability. Ability to work evenings and weekends is a huge bonus.What you’ll be doing: · Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow culinarians· Prepare and service all food items for a la carte and Banquet menus according to recipes and standards· Ensuring high quality and consistency of food preparation and presentation· Ensure all food and beverage products are delivered to standard time guidelines· Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings· Participate in menu and recipe development· In the absence of a Chef prepare the daily task list for team

  • Motivate and lead to ensure high team morale
  • Control food cost and wastage within the kitchen
  • Act as a liaison between the floor and the kitchen
  • Ensure all product received is meeting quality, weight and/or count standards
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
  • Supervise the team in the absence of Chef
  • Immediately notify Chef of any potential guest or talent issues or concerns
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs. Standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time and ensuring a professional appearance in a clean uniform are also required.
