We are seeking a full-time Child Development Facilitator (CDF) for our Elementary Education Program (EEP) at the Thomas Buchanan Centre (75 Sunpark Drive SE). The CDF implements and facilitates daily classroom plans under the direction of the teacher. Working in collaboration with the teacher and therapy team, the CDF evaluates and implements Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals to meet the individual needs of students.Entry level rate starts at $18.36 per hour and increases based on years of relevant experience and education. This is a permanent position to start immediately.ResponsibilitiesSome responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Develop and implement activities, strategies and schedules to address IPP goals;Organize and prepare daily plans for individual children/student utilizing visual schedules, special seating, accessing and modifying learning materials, classroom equipment and activities to meet the needs of the child/student;Focus on relationship building, to support the implementation of sensory-based strategies;Assist children/student in play activities;Documentation of child/student’s progress;Assist with classroom maintenance;Support children with self care skills (i.e., toilet/diaper, feeding, etc.)QualificationsA minimum grade twelve diploma.
