We are accepting applicants for full-time Child Development Facilitators (CDF) for the 2021/2022 school year to commence August 25, 2021 for our Elementary Education Program (EEP) and our Early Childhood Services (ECS) at the Janice McTighe Centre (2050 21 Street NE). The CDF implements and facilitates daily classroom plans under the direction of the teacher. Working in collaboration with the teacher and therapy team, the CDF evaluates and implements Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals to meet the individual needs of students.Entry level rate starts at $18.36 per hour and increases based on years of relevant experience and education. We offer a competitive benefits package and group savings matching after 3 months.ResponsibilitiesSome responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Develop and implement activities, strategies and schedules to address IPP goals;Organize and prepare daily plans for individual children/student utilizing visual schedules, special seating, accessing and modifying learning materials, classroom equipment and activities to meet the needs of the child/student;Focus on relationship building, to support the implementation of sensory-based strategies;Assist children/student in play activities;Documentation of child/student’s progress;Assist with classroom maintenance;Support children with self care skills (i.e., toilet/diaper, feeding, etc.)QualificationsA minimum grade twelve diploma.
