Job Description

Non Profit out of school care program We are a not-for-profit out of school care program operating in the heart of Inglewood, a wonderful and vibrant community with excellent commuter links (transit, cycle, ride-share, car, etc). Colonel Walker Programs runs yearly from September – June, working with school-aged Children (K-6). This role is perfect for a person who loves working directly with children; some one who is active, creative, kind and a team player. We are looking for 1 part time applicant to cover a maternity leave position.Applicants must be able to work:September 1, 2021 to Dec 17, 2021

  • Monday-Thursday 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm
  • Friday 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
  • Availability to be on call
January 4, 2022 to June 30, 2022
  • Fridays 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Availability to be on call
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing daily, weekly and PD day activities and programming
  • Care for and actively supervise children
  • observe and document childrens interactions
  • Daily communications with parents in a professional and respectful manner
  • Keep program clean and organized daily
  • Maintain childrens attendance sheets daily
  • Maintain confidentiality as out lined in the programs Confidentiality Agreement
  • Be familiar with the policies and procedures
  • Attend monthly staff meetings
  • Be familiar with the policies and procedures
  • Assist in advance daily cleaning protocols to maintain a safe & healthy working environment
Requirements/Competencies:
  • Have Early childhood educator Certificate (Level 1 or 2)
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Must be enthusiastic and engaging with children
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Able to follow direction from senior staff
  • Adhere to staff policies and procedures
  • Successful applicant must provide a criminal record check that includes a vulnerable sector search
  • Preferably have first aid with CPR certification or willing to obtain
  • Provide personal and professional references
Employment Benefits:
  • $15.00/hour Level 1
  • $16.00/hour Level 2
  • $2.14 per hour wage enhancement Level 1
  • $4.05 per hour wage enhancement Level 2
  • July & August off- ROE provided
  • 2 Weeks break during holiday season
  • possibility of return to employment September 2022
