Please send all resumes to jobs@professionalexcavators.comWe appreciate your interest however only those considered will be contacted.Thank youProfessional Excavators & Construction Inc. has an immediate opening for a Civil Estimator.Professional Excavators is a mid-sized company specializing in civil and commercial projects within theCity of Calgary and surrounding area. We are seeking an intermediate to senior-level Estimator with atleast five years related experience.The ideal candidate is the individual who takes ownership of a project, uses strategic thinking and canproduce a winning submission. Projects range in value from $100K to $15m. Preference will be given tothose candidates with proven Asphalt Paving and Concrete Flatworks experience.Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Management, preparation and closing lump sum bids
  • Performing quantity and material take-offs, preparation and distribution of subtrade pricing
invitations
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with subtrades
  • Fielding questions from trades regarding drawings and specifications
  • Reviewing subtrade quotations for accuracy and ensuring compliance with tender documents
  • Preparing job cost spreadsheets
Skill and Experience:
  • Construction related degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and
techniques, and construction contracts as well as conceptual estimating and unit costs
  • The ability to work effectively and accurately in time sensitive situations while delegating to a
