• The Maple is permanent supportive housing for female identifying adults over the age of 25 that have experienced chronic homelessness. This is a Housing First program, meaning we believe that everyone deserves a home and the opportunity to rebuild their lives, regardless of addictions and mental health issues often caused by past trauma.

The Role: Client Support – Full TimeReporting to Program ManagerSchedule:

• 4 days on and 3 days off - 40 hours per week
• This includes 2 afternoon shifts and 2 overnight shifts

What Youll Bring to The Role:

• Education in a related social or human services field with recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn database systems
• Concise and clear communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License and Drivers Abstract
• Current First Aid and CPR training
• Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search and Child Intervention Record Check
• Excellent understanding of vulnerable populations and the multi-faced issues they face
• Knowledge of therapeutic frameworks including strength-based, trauma informed care, family, natural and LGBTQ2S+ supports

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Provide coaching and support to women who are ending their experience with homelessness
• Support women in advocating for placements and supports needed to deal with their issues around homelessness and/or sexual exploitation
• Support and teach necessary life skills for successful community living
  • Vocational skills, resume building, conflict resolution, problem-solving and communication skills
• Provide 1 to 1 support accessing services and natural supports as women transition to a healthier lifestyle
  • Acting as a liaison as needed between families, social workers, doctors, and other professionals involved with residents
  • Provide available educational resources
  • Assisting and connecting with health care supports; gender affirming gear and referrals to medical professionals who can support those who want to explore or are during gender transition.
• Timely completion of case notes, implements safety planning, and completes Critical Incidents when necessary
• Intervening and supporting through crisis situations as they occur
• Responsible for program planning and facilitation that is resident driven
• Attending required training opportunities within the appropriate timeframe
