Your Opportunity:You’re a self-motivated, dynamic, and detail-oriented Clinical Informatician who understands the impact of quality Clinical Informatics (CI), and CI systems, and is knowledgeable about information management, quality and safety, analytics, and evaluation techniques. Bringing a combination of CI expertise and clinical experience, Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for someone like you for the role of Clinical Informatics Lead – Clinical Documentation Focus. As the CI lead, you will facilitate the creation, maintenance and dissemination of clinical documentation content within Connect Care, the province-wide CIS. In this role, you will consult and collaborate with key stakeholders across the province to develop content like flowsheets, notes, navigators, letters, templates, smarts elements that support evidence-based, best practice standards of care. You will carefully probe to fully understand your clients’ CI requirements and the best way to build it, using clear communication to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Offering shopping, dining, the arts and professional sports teams, Calgary is also just 1.5 hours’ drive from Banff National Park.Description:As the Clinical Informatics (CI) Lead, (Clinical Documentation focus), you will provide leadership in the development, implementation, and change management of CI projects, processes, programs, and educational tools and resources for the Chief Medical Information Office’s (CMIO’s) portfolio and is provincial in nature. Reporting to the CMIO Program Director, you will be responsible and accountable for the integration and adoption of the standards, policy, and procedures that are implemented in the technology in clinical settings. Working in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, you will build and maintain effective working relationships and use your informatics skills and clinical experience to share knowledge and develop clinical content that supports evidence-based, best practice standards of care. You will develop and manage various initiatives and provide ongoing client leadership and optimization between individuals, departments, sites, and programs for the design, build, implementation, and optimization cycles of the provincial Clinical Information System (CIS). In this role, you will oversee and manage complex initiatives in CMIO areas of accountability, such as eQuality and eSafety, eHealth Capacity and Adoption, eHealth Process Standardization, Stakeholder Relations and Analytics. The scope of clinical content and standards to be developed and maintained include but are not limited to flowsheets, notes, navigators, letters, templates, smarts elements, and working with clinical communities to encourage CIS adoption and use. This role may also support requirements needed for the development of clinical guidance and reporting that are used by many disciplines within AHS and potentially outside of AHS, (i.e., Covenant Health).
