In doing so, we “partner” with our brokers, sharing in their success.TSW Management Services Inc. is seeking a Commercial Underwriter for its Calgary Office!As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting and servicing Commercial SME accounts in accordance with established guidelines of our Delegated Authority Contracts and help support the division’s business objectives and grow the current portfolio.If you are looking for a dynamic work environment, keep readingYOUR DAY AS AN UNDERWRITER

• Individual pricing and risk selection decisions within underwriting guidelines, contract authority limits and company standards.
• Analyze new business for risk profitability by assessing exposures and hazards as determined by review of underwriting data.
• Manage renewals – underwriting, negotiating renewal terms directly with the broker teams, file set up, quoting, follow up for required information, underwriting claims as required and maintaining expiry list.
• When required, brokering referrals to various underwriters in London and Domestic markets.
• Policy changes – underwriting, quoting and issuing policy change documents
• Work with broker teams on account inquiries.
• Casualty underwriting experience is an asset.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with exposure to umbrella and miscellaneous errors and omissions
• CIP designation or equivalent and/or actively working on completing this designation
• Excellent computer skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Attention to detail and precision are essential
• Flexibility; ability to prioritize multiple ongoing tasks
• Ability to work well independently, as part of a team and with others throughout the organization
• Customer-focused and service-oriented
• Knowledge of EPIC, LEO and/or Lloyds lineage an asset
• Package insurance underwriting experience preferred
