Job Description

As the Community Animator, you will be part of a small but mighty team of creative out-of-the-boxthinkers. Your collaborative and empowering approach will support community members to champion women’s economicprosperity.You will support, develop and implement mezzo and macro level activities to promotewomen’s economic advancement and prosperity. As the successful candidate for this role, you willpossess exceptional attention to detail and provide innovative approaches and best practices in thesupport of community mobilization, partnership development, and empowerment.WHAT MOVES YOU

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Build effective and equitable partnerships with community stakeholders.
  • Engage community stakeholders to enhance awareness of women’s economic empowerment.
  • Engage community using technology, social media, and in-person.
  • Empower community members to take action in their neighborhoods and local organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with community members to develop solutions at the local level.
  • Support community members to implement these solutions through skill development, leadership development, and partnership opportunities.
  • Create action plans to support and develop community capacity.
  • Keep up to date on evidence-based practice related to program (i.e. community development, financial empowerment etc.).
  • Promote the YW and associated programs/services to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain records in accordance to program policies and support monitoring and reporting obligations.
  • This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. Weekend and evening work is required to allow for fulsome engagement with community members.
WHAT YOU'VE DONE
  • BSW, with registration with Alberta college of Social workers preferred. Relevant education and experience will be considered.
  • 3 -5 years of related experience.
  • Experience working across different sectors (e.g. social profit, business, community organizations).
  • Strong command of community development, and gender-based analysis.
  • Working knowledge of financial empowerment approaches.
  • Proven track record of building partnerships and successfully overseeing community initiatives.
  • Proven record of working with diverse populations, multicultural and Indigenous Peoples.
  • Strong computer literacy including MS Office suite and able to learn new software.
  • Must be able to read, write, and deliver services in English. Multilingualism is anasset.
  • Accomplish activities with an equity, diversity and inclusion lens.
