Job Description

We are currently hiring a casual Community Evening Attendant position open at our Bow Valley Community located at 1020 Bow Valley Drive, NE.Shift time would be 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.Find meaningful work with seniors.Enjoy working on a high-performance team while making a difference in the lives of independent seniors.Choose to work at one of our many communities across Calgary.Benefit from flexible hours, healthcare coverage and a pension plan.Reporting to the Dining Services Supervisor, the Community Evening Attendant is responsible for the overall cleanliness and safety of the community during their shift.Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible to serve meals and beverages in a polite and professional manner, responsible for food preparation and clean up duties in the kitchen
  • Responsible for the daily/weekly cleaning, cleaning and setting up the dining room and staff room
  • Completes documentation of required tasks
  • Responsible for the overall security and safety of the community and residents during the assigned shift
  • Resolves any emergency situations which may arise and completes all paperwork and follows procedures as required
  • Reports any safety issues to the Community Manager and is knowledgeable in emergency procedures and can act accordingly
Desired qualifications:
  • Previous serving experience
  • Flexible, willing and positive attitude
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Ability to effectively work independently or within a team
  • High safety and hygiene standards
  • Basic computer skills
Additional Requirements for Casual Staff:
  • The successful candidate has availability of at least 4 days per week and indicates those days and time upon hire
  • Must be willing to work multiple roles and provide coverage where required
  • Must be willing to work in multiple communities
