Job Description

We currently have a full-time, 6 month contract floater Community Night Attendant position open at our Shawnessy Community located at 30 Shannon Place SW. The successful candidate will be required to work at different Silvera communities when needed. Find meaningful work with seniors. Choose to work at one of our many communities across Calgary.Benefit from flexible hours, healthcare coverage and a pension plan.Reporting to the Community Manager, the Floater Community Night Attendant is responsible for the overall cleanliness and safety of the community during their shift.Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the daily cleaning of resident units including bed-making, linen and towel change.
  • Responsible for the laundry and cleanliness of all common areas and flooring.
  • Responsible for the overall security and safety of the community and residents during the assigned shift
  • Responds to any emergency situations which may arise and completes all paperwork and follows procedures as required
  • Reports any safety issues to the Community Manager and is knowledgeable in emergency procedures and can act accordingly
  • Required to travel between communities to in case of an outbreak or to relieve other Community Night Attendants on vacation/extended leaves of absence
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
Desired qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in housekeeping/room attending is essential.
  • Must possess a high standard of hygiene and personal appearance.
  • Good communication skills, basic computer skills and excellent customer service skills
  • Must have Food Handling course, WHMIS, and First Aid or willing to take.
Working Conditions:
  • A valid drivers license or access to a reliable vehicle, as travel to different communities is required;
  • Work within different environments, both within a primary location as well as alternate locations;
  • Be flexible and able to respond to a variety of changing duties and work routines, on occasion work under somewhat stressful situations.
