About the Position: In this Full-Time position, the Community Relations Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing an annual giving program that aligns with Closer to Home’s strategic directions. A natural people-person, you will cultivate and steward relationships with donors and prospects towards long-term, sustainable and growing annual support. You bring a combination of education and demonstrated experience in fundraising, a growth mindset, strong work ethic and a desire to build your fundraising career while bringing energy, creativity and ideas to grow the organization’s donor base and profile. In this role, you will be responsible to sustain, grow and evaluate all aspects of community giving under $15,000 that inspires new and renewing donor support. This includes an annual, multi-channel direct response program, our Adopt-a-Family initiative, third party/ community fundraising partnerships, and other annual initiatives. You will engage the general public through presentations and representing CTH at community events, recruiting and supervising volunteers in support of annual initiatives and activities, and support the Fund Development and Communications team in revenue generating opportunities and events. Delivering timely and meaningful donor stewardship is vital to this role.About You: You possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively build long-term, genuine relationships with donors and supporters. You have the ability to implement donor relations and stewardship plan, including making and tracking metrics. You are able to demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills. You are an organized individual with superior time management skills, a strong attention to detail and accuracy. In addition, you are eager demonstrate your presentation skills in various settings.A post secondary degree in Fundraising, Non-Profit Management, Communications, or related field is preferred, or equivalent experience with a minimum of three years in a fund development role (with preference in Annual Giving). You have demonstrated success in building donor relationships, soliciting donor support and meeting fundraising targets. You must have previous experience working in a non-profit setting and a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Knowledge of Donor databases (eTapestry) is an asset. You have a strong understanding of the fundraising pyramid, moves management and how annual giving programs support agency growth.
