Overview:Are you someone with strong technical capabilities Do you enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment Are you a problem solver and have excellent organization and communication skillsYour opportunityDillon’s Waste Management technical group is looking for a Construction Inspector in the City of Iqaluit for a 14 week position beginning in July this year with the possibility of 20 weeks in 2023 and a possible extension into 2024. Travel and accommodation costs will be provided and per diem rates will be discussed with those individuals selected for interviews. Work hours will be dependent on the Contractor’s schedule. Overtime will be in accordance with the Nunavut Labour Standards Compliance Office. This position is available in any one of Dillon’s offices across Canada. Training will be provided (and is required) prior to the start of the project.You will have the opportunity to work on a new and exciting project while providing the Client with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.The project involves the construction of two new facilities under two separate contracts to manage the City of Iqaluit’s municipal solid waste; a transfer station where waste materials will be baled and a landfill complete with an engineered liner and leachate collection system. These two facilities will be the first of their kind in the Canadian arctic. It is anticipated that construction activity in 2022 will focus on site preparation and earthworks.Responsibilities:Construction Observation (100%)This position is to observe and document that the interests of the City of Iqaluit are being protected and that he designs is being constructed in accordance with project drawings and specifications during the execution of the construction contract.
