Job Description

Your Opportunity:The Health Information Management (HIM) Project & Business Solutions team is looking for an individual with advanced skills and knowledge to support complex projects, procedures, practices or initiatives within HIM. Good knowledge of the HIM Access and Disclosure domain of practice as well as other HIM domains is required. The incumbent will work within a provincial team fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders. This role requires a high degree of independent work and collaboration with HIM and AHS clinical and business operations teams to: Coordinate resources and engage stakeholders throughout the province Track, monitor and report on decision making related to standardization and governance of information access activities in alignment with the Health Information Act (HIA). Support program documentation and identification of risks and issues. Draft workflow process diagrams and other documentation. Navigate process and workflow approval pathways. Draft briefing notes, decision requests, change requests, PowerPoints, etc. Health informatics and project coordination expertise is key to be effective in this role. Knowledge of applicable Alberta legislation and ability to interpret and apply it is a key skillset. The focus for this position will be to work with HIM Access and Disclosure (A&D) and other stakeholders to: Support HIM A&D leaders in the operation and coordination of an internal project team to facilitate completion of deliverables including: Identify, coordinate and plan for immediate and short term timelines to standardize and align formal information access requests Post investigation and analysis identify long-term deliverables based on the outcomes and business requirements to standardize formal information access requests.Description:The Health Information Management (HIM) Project & Business Solutions team is looking for an individual with advanced skills and knowledge to support complex projects, procedures, practices or initiatives within HIM. Required Qualifications:Knowledge of principles and practices of health information management, medical terminology; legislation and regulations related to medical records content, privacy, release, and retention. Registered HIM Professional in good standing with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA). Five years’ experience in a healthcare environment, preferably with a focus on release of information. Ability to understand operational and workforce issues, and to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with different skills and expertise. Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Teams, SharePoint and OneNote. Experience working with large provincial clinical programs within AHS and engaging and working with AHS subject matter experts for various domains. Working knowledge of project management principles, tools, and methodologies. Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities while meeting milestones.Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.Preferred Qualifications:Applied knowledge of stakeholder engagement and change management, including PROSCI change management courses or certification; Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner.
