For more information please visit our career site at www.calgarycoop.com/careers.Corporate Communications Advisor OpportunityReporting to the Communications Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing and assessing communication planning, strategies and tactics to create understanding and connections among Calgary Co-op's stakeholders. Provide exceptional content development and project management support to the communications team with respect to both internal and external events, campaigns and projects. A great writer, editor and communicator who is passionate about working for an inspiring local company and is keen to tell its story. You will be required to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends and have access to a vehicle and a clean driving record.Key ResponsibilitiesCommunications:Develop plans, narratives and materials that promote and communicate Calgary Co-op programs, partnerships and events for all lines of business:Create comprehensive communications plans that support Calgary Co-op initiativesResearch, write and publish engaging content including internal updates, website content, social media content, news releases, backgrounders, speaking notes and key messagesContent development and copywriting for flyer, store signage and websiteSome video planning and scriptingIssues Management and Media Relations:Support communications director with media inquiries and media relationsIssues Management support including research, messaging and FAQ'sCorporate:Director Election writing and supportPatronage package content developmentAGM scripting and planning supportMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or Journalism or similar educational backgroundProgressive, relevant experience in communications, media relations and issues managementExperience, developing comprehensive communications strategies in support of business goalsStrong written and verbal communications skillsStrong understanding of social mediaStrong copy writing and editing skillsProficiency with computers including social media channels, Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPointDesirable Qualifications:Three to five years' of experience in communications, public relations or related fieldBenefits & PerksWorking at Calgary Co-op provides opportunities for increasing levels of responsibility, personal growth and challenge and the experience of working for a company that is proud of the communities it serves.
