You’ll spend lots of time hand-on-keyboard writing code, with the remaining time spent on researching analytics techniques and understanding business processes. Potential teams include:

• Applied AI Team - Recommender Agents and Decision Support Squad: This team builds predictive models about ATB’s clients, delivering personalized advice powered by machine learning. Data Science positions on this team focus heavily on advanced machine learning techniques that are deployed in a cloud environment for immediate positive impacts to the client experience.
• Brightside Data Science Team: We bring the brighter-side of data to light using a variety of ML techniques leveraging AWS tech stack. Our Data Science team toggles between data operations and science to continuously enhance our data science pipelines and platforms. We ensure the right person receives the right data at the right time to make informed and data-driven decisions.
• Client Intelligence Analytics Team: Everyday can bring something new on this team! We have regular monthly metrics reporting and deeper analysis, maintenance and building of NLP machine learning models for Voice of Client analysis. Adhoc requests round out the role where we are asked to explore the client experience by bringing together experiential and operational data and build what we need to discover what we don’t know.

Responsibilities:

• Designs and develops machine learning algorithms, and works with ML engineers to deploy those algorithms to production
• Researches and analyzes data to find deep relations and insights that can be leveraged to create production-quality, machine learning powered products or services
• Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze large unstructured or structured data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement
• Builds models to explore customer, programmer, web and mobile data
• Works across multi-disciplinary teams to translate business needs into testable hypotheses and then designs experiments to test said hypotheses
• Collaborates with other members of the Data team to support investigation across a variety of topics
• Responsible for utilizing a variety of data science techniques - time series modelling, unsupervised learning, all classes of supervised learning (random forests, CNNs, SVMs), and classic regressions to make predictions on financial and customer datasets.

RequirementsAccreditations:

• Advanced degree or experience in data science, computer science or related field
• Working knowledge in SQL-based technologies (e.g PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (e.g. MongoDB)
• Working knowledge in machine learning techniques and algorithms (NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Random Forests, etc)

Core Technical Skills:

• Data science - Extracting business-focused insights from data using principles of statistics, data wrangling, software engineering, basic programming, etc.
• Machine learning, AI, and algorithm design
• Programming & model construction - Programming in languages for data science (Python, TensorFlow, C/C++, JavaScript, Pearl, MatLab, R)
• Data analytics skills including data mining and prescriptive, predictive, descriptive and diagnostic analytics
• Experience with data topics including data engineering, data cleansing, curation, harmonization and packaging, and data reporting visualization & dashboarding tools
• Development and coding skills including: modular coding & pipeline automation, source code management, and development tools

Interpersonal and Leadership Skills:

• Written and verbal communication
• Stakeholder management
• Presentations of technical concepts to non-technical audiences
