Little Stars is looking to recruit a dynamic daycare substitute teacher for our awesome group of kids! You would be on call if someone needs to be away. Summer time always has more hours as staff take holidays. Potential for the right person to be hired as a full time regular educator.Your primary role will be engaging with the children and assisting in the room as needed. We follow Flight and have a routine that enhances the childs learning and development. We have 28-32 kids daily, family style learning and child care (1 room divided for age groups). Its a very busy and fun centre.Little Stars is nestled in the community of Crestmont, which is located by WinSport/COP. Crestmont is on the left side of Hwy 16 as you are leaving Calgary to go to Banff. The address is 12400 Crestmont Blvd SW. Please google the address before applying as then you will know where we are and can look into commuting as there is no easy way on transit and SW doesnt mean its over by Evergreen/Southland/Heritage.Responsibilities and DutiesPlan engaging activities for a group of kids ages 19 months to 6 years (strong programming skills) following FlightChange diapersAssist with washroom and potty trainingEngage with kids during playCentre is open 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday so shift is during operation hours.Attend staff meetingsAssist with dressingAssist with prepping snackFollowing routines and transitions for the childrenWorking in a team of 6 adultsEngage with parents by having positive conversations (even when something bad has happened)Work well under pressure and stress with a large group of children.Able to be flexible with the daily schedule and able to plan for last minute changes in routine.Qualifications and SkillsLevel 1, 2 or 3 ECE; must have certification to be a candidate for the positionminimum of 1 year experience in child careFirst Aid and CPRCurrent police check (within 6 months) with vulnerable sector searchSpeak, write and read English (or good enough English to be understood properly by everyone)Job Types: Part-time, CasualSalary: From $15.00 per hourAdditional pay:
