Now Hiring – Class 1, 3 and 5 Truck DriversLocation is Star Building Materials at 292156 Crosspointe Road, Rocky View County, AB (behind the Century Downs Racetrack/Casino in Balzac) and NOT on a bus route.At Star Building Materials, we offer an exciting place to build your career, with:Competitive compensation and benefit packagesEducational assistance programCompany matching RRSP/DPSP programEmployee home purchase programStarting rates from $24.00 - $27.00/hour plus holiday and sick payRetail discounts.RequirementsCompletion of high school, must be able to read and write, and perform basic math.Minimum 3 months of delivery experience.Valid Class 1 driver’s licence or better.Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.Satisfactory verification of criminal record check and driver’s abstract.Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 75 lbs. without the assistance of mobile or powered equipment.Physically able to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 24’ on flat or angled rooftops.Attention to detail, good hand/eye coordination and situational awareness of physical work environment.Preferred RequirementsClass 3 or 5 driver’s licence is an asset.Job OverviewReporting to the Logistics Supervisor, Class 1, 3 and 5 Truck Drivers deliver building materials to customer homes or construction sites. You also load, transport, and unload materials manually.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Providing excellent customer service to all customers as a representative of the company.Loading truck in a safe and timely manner, and minimizing down time in yard. Assisting forklift operators loading trucks as needed.Verifying accuracy of shipping documents.Delivering materials via the most efficient route to remain on schedule.Adhering to Qualico’s Safety Programs and standard operating procedures at all times.Keeping equipment clean and in a good order condition, including completion of daily pre-trip inspections.Work ConditionsYou primarily work on plant during regular business hours. Location is Star Building Materials at 292156 Crosspointe Road, Rocky View County, AB (behind the Century Downs Racetrack/Casino in Balzac) and NOT on a bus route. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust.
