Job Description

EditorWho is POD MarketingPOD Marketing is a full-service digital marketing agency that offers clients a wide range of marketing solutions. Unlike other agencies, we specialize in specific industries, which makes us true experts in both digital marketing and the industries we serve. While we are committed to our clients, our number 1 priority has and always will be our employees. We believe this employee-obsessed approach is the biggest contributor to our company’s growth. In only 8+ years, we’re now working with over 1,000 clients all across North America, which would not have been possible without employing a talented team of over 100 employees.Office culture is not about having a beer fridge or a ping-pong table (but yes, we have those too), it’s about how being at work makes you feel. We asked our staff and here are some of the things they said they loved most about working at POD Marketing: They feel accepted for who they are, supported, challenged, enjoy the flexibility of being able to work from home, the open lines of communication with every member on the team including upper management, having physiological safety, and are energized by the opportunities to grow, develop and progress their careers. To learn more about our culture, watch this video: https://youtu.be/1WZ8tAnATNs, visit the POD Marketing YouTube channel and check out our reviews on Glassdoor.Job SummaryOur editor is a professional word nerd; someone who understands that language is a living, breathing thing. They understand all of the technicalities of writing, but they also get that good digital content means bending the rules. (Just a lil’ bit.) As an editor, you’ll go through our content and use your keen eye to spot typos, tonal inconsistencies, and factual errors. You’ll give feedback directly to the content writers, and act as the Content Strategy Manager’s eyes – making a note of any areas where writers might benefit from coaching. You’ll also put your word nerdery to use by doing some writing as needed. You’re detail-oriented, take feedback well, and are comfortable explaining complex concepts to easily-distracted people. When giving feedback, you’re kind but clear. And of course, love and devotion for the oxford comma is an absolute must!Responsibilities

  • Ensure content aligns with industry regulations
  • Review writers work and provide relevant feedback
  • Train contractors and act as their primary point of contact
  • Maintain and update the style guide
  • Provide insight to team manager regarding coaching opportunities
Required Experience & SkillsMust Have:
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • An English degree (or directly relevant diploma)
  • A strong grasp of English grammar
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience as an editor
  • Strong writing and overall communication skills
Nice to Have:
  • General understanding of SEO best practices
  • Familiarity with the concepts of user intent and user experience
  • Experience teaching or coaching writers
  • Experience with digital content
How to ApplyAt POD, we believe “that most job requirements and conceptual knowledge are easily trainable.
