This is a mid-level position with a primary focus on the Calgary Hitmen and Calgary Wranglers.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESReporting to the Control Room Manager, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Video production for the Broadcast and Production department;
  • Actively participate in safety programs and follow policies;
  • All other duties as assigned.
THE INDIVIDUALThe ideal candidate will have the following background:
  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Journalism/New Media/Communications and a minimum of 3 years’ experience writing and/or editing in the sports field;
  • Extensive experience with editing and graphic software applications;
  • Creativity and ability to work with tight timelines;
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, trends and best practices;
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly and efficiently while working in a team environment;
  • Strong hockey and general sports knowledge;
  • Editing and design knowledge, digital design skills, and thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite are considered assets;
  • Flexibility in schedule is important to this role as the chosen candidate will be required to work nights and weekends. Travel may also be required.
