Job Description

Strathcona Resources Ltd. (“Strathcona”)is a Calgary, Alberta based crude oil and gas production and developmentcompany focused on maximizing oil and gas recovery from its low decline, highfree cash flow oil and gas resource base. Strathconasoperations, infrastructure and land position are focused in British Columbia,Alberta and Saskatchewan.Strathcona Resources is presentlyseeking an ESG Data Analyst fora six-month contract position in ourCalgary office. Reporting to the ESG and Sustainability Advisor, thesuccessful candidate will ensure smooth ESG data integration which includescompiling data from different teams (finance, production, HSE, etc.) to producea fulsome picture of the companys performance. The Data Analyst will useproblem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies andimplement technology solutions.The Successful Candidate Will:Prepare and maintain data anddashboards that will be used for internal and external reporting and driveprogress towards the company’s ESG goals by informing company strategy andtarget settingLearn the databases for datastorage and collection for various systems and software to provide aconsistent, seamless source of truth in ESG dataRecommend best practices andproactive measures to make scope changes (e.g., M&A) easier tointegrate by having a consistent framework for new dataImplementing QA/QC processes forESG data, including working with third-party providers to obtain assuranceover ESG data prior to external reportingSupporting the continuousimprovement of ESG disclosure, including alignment with leading frameworks(SASB, TCFD, or similar)Participate in the development ofStrathcona’s annual integrated report, including non-financial content,sustainability targets, sustainability performance table, third-partyassurance and any other required informationQualifications Include:Excellent writing and verbalcommunication skills with a knowledge of Microsoft products and othercollaboration toolsExperience in data analytics and/ordatabase developmentExceptional information processingwith high levels of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to aggregate and assimilatesignificant amounts of data; problem-solving mindset along with experiencein analysis to support decision makingLead and engage in complexquantitative analysis to support clear understanding of potentialdevelopment opportunities and policiesEducationand Experience:Bachelor’s degree in STEM(Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics) discipline, or a relatedquantitative discipline is preferred and/or an equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.Familiar with ESG reportingframeworks (SASB, GRI, TCFD) is preferred.Energy / oil and gas experience isan assetKnowledge of a modern programminglanguage (Python, R+ etc.) and data structures is requiredComputer skills required: Microsoftsuite, BI tools/analytical and visualization platforms (e.g., Spotfire,Power BI, Tableau)Great things aren’t done by one person,they’re done by a team.Strathcona is committed to developing ahigh-performance culture through collaboration, trust, and agility.
